Civil construction

We build the road
from the ground up.

Every carriageway is a stack of engineered layers. Scroll to watch one go down, in the order we actually build it on site.

01

Subgrade

Strip, cut and compact the formation. Everything above only performs if the ground beneath is proof-rolled and signed off.

02

Sub-base

Graded aggregate laid and compacted to level. This is the layer that spreads load and keeps water moving away from the formation.

03

Road base

The structural course. Laid to tight tolerance, rolled to density, and tested before anything gets surfaced.

04

Surfacing

Binder and wearing course, paved hot and rolled to a sealed, even running surface.

05

Kerbs & markings

Kerb line, edge lines and centre markings. The road stops being earthworks and starts being a road.
